Philippians 4:6-7 says,
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
"I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy, down in my heart...I've got the peace that passes understanding ...down in my heart to stay!" Did you learn this song when you were little? I loved it, but I did not get it then. I do now.
Do you ever get a headache and then suddenly you realize it's gone? What a great relief! That's how the "peace" is for me. I have anxiety or depression over a struggle and suddenly I realize it's gone! It's been replaced by His Peace, the Peace that passes all understanding. I cannot explain it, but I suddenly have my joy restored and am at rest about the matter.
That's how it was recently as I struggled with an ongoing issue. All of a sudden I knew my struggle was over. I knew someone prayed for me and a supernatural peace replaced my distress.
