Recently I was discouraged due to a disagreement and even more when I heard the latest bad news. I knew what to do. I went to the Good News. I began to read the Psalms and listen praise music. Heard a great song that was new to me: I speak Jesus sung by Charity Gayle
This is Thanksgiving Week and as we prepare for a big meal with family and friends we can reflect on things to be thankful for. Psalm 22:3
I am thankful for laughter because it is good medicine. Proverbs 17:22
I am exceedingly thankful for Godly parents who shared their faith. Dad was in the military and we traveled the world. Moving every two years was hard, but each place we found a church, a family of believers who welcomed us. The best was Thailand where we attended a church run by missionaries. I was very blessed to have missionaries for my teachers so I got a strong education in the Word of God and the Living Word, Jesus. I did not just hear the Word, I saw it in their actions. They lived the Word. There were about 30 missionary families who went out from that home base to the countryside sharing the good news. I look back on the time there as the greatest two years of my growing up.
I am thankful for the people of faith throughout my life who continue to show me Jesus. I am thankful I know Jesus as King, Lord and Brother. If you don't know Him, you can read His Word, ask Him to come to you. John 3:16
